Fibroid is one thing that I will not pray for my enemy as it serves as a silent killer. A woman may never she has one until it has reached advanced stage. I know of a popular actor in Nigeria that lost his wife to this nonesense tumor.

Without much ado ;

Fibroids Is Found Around The Uterus.

What are Fibroids ?.

Fibroids simply put are growth in the wall of the uterus. Fibroid tumors are solid tumors which are made up of fibrous tissue; That is where the name ‘fibroid’ tumor are derived from. In most cases fibroids occur as multiple tumor masses which are grow slowly and often cause no symptoms.

The tumors are benign (meaning non cancerous) and are found in many cases in the uterus of women in their 30’s and 40’s .The size of fibroids varies significantly among women and some are so small that you will require the use of a microscope to see them. However some women experience a single large fibroid tumor as big as the size of a grapefruit or a fibroid which is very large that it encompasses the entire abdominal area.

Such large tumors can weigh as much as 23kg; the largest, reported, fibroid ever recorded weighed in at 63.5kg. It is not scientifically clear why fibroid tumors develop, but some facts are clear enough.

  •  Fibroid tumors do not develop before the body begins producing estrogen during the start of menstruation
  • As long as estrogen is present fibroid tumors will continue.
  • They will often grow very quickly during pregnancy since the body is producing extra estrogen
  • Fiboid tumors often shrink and disappear completely after menopause because at this stage the female body has stopped producing estrogen. As a woman will almost never develop fibroid tumors after menopause.

Even though the estrogen fact is clear there are some cases that women with fibroids have blood level that suggests normal amounts of estrogen.

Types of Fibroid Tumors

There are various types of fibroids named relative to the part of the uterus they are associated with. The various types are discussed below.

Submucous or Submucosal Fibroids

These fibroids occur just below the lining of the uterus and can cause menstrual problems, including pain as they grow and move around the pelvic area.

Intramural Or Mymetrial Fibroids

A round fibroid most often within the uterine wall which can cause enlargement of the uterus as they grow.

Subserous or Subserosal Fibroids

This fibroid grows on the outer wall of the uterus and usually causes no symptoms until it grows large enough to interfere with other organs.

Pedunculated Fibroids

These fibroids develop when a subserous fibroid grows a peduncle (stalk), as they grow larger they may become twisted and cause severe pain.

Interligamentous Fibroid

A fibroid which grows sideways between the ligaments which support the uterus in the abdominal region. This type of fibroid is especially difficult to remove without the possibility of interfering with the blood supply or other organs.

Parasitic Fibroid

The rarest form of fibroid tumor occurs when a fibroid attaches itself to another organ.

How To Tell If Fibroid Is Present.

Fibroids do not really cause symptoms. Fibroids are discovered during prenatal care or during gynecological examinations. Here are pointers to the presence of fibroids.

  • Some women may experience excessive or painful bleeding during menstruation.
  • Bleeding during periods are often experienced.
  • At times prolonged menses lasting up to 7 days or more.
  • Constipation and reduced appetite.
  • A feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen.
  • Frequent urination as a result of the tumor compressed on the bladder.
  • Pain experienced during sexual intercourse.
  • Serious low back pain.

Other reproductive symptoms includes

  • Infertility
  • Recurrent spontaneous abortions.
  • Early rise of labour during pregnancy.
  • Prevents conception by blocking the fallopian tubes when it  prevents fertilization and migration of the ovum (egg)

So what are the causes of fibroid tumor in women.

  • Genes that is to say it is hereditary.
  • Hormones as indicated earlier the production of estrogen also could be the cause.

A combination of both of these can contribute also.

I will discuss a way of getting rid of fibroid naturally and it involves detoxifying the body.

A Good Flusher Of Toxins From The Body

  • Drink fluids in any form such as water, fruit juice, vegetable juice or herbal tea. This helps to flush out accumulated wastes in the body. Green tea is an antioxidant for helping to eliminate fibroids.
  • Eat fiber in form of fruits and vegetables. This will help in reducing constipation and encourage bowel flow.
  •  Reduce your intake of meat as it is evident that too much estrogen constitutes to uterine fibroids. Eating meat like poultry or beef increases the amount of estrogen in the body.
  • Take Milk Thistle, it helps to clean the liver. It removes excess estrogen stored in the liver. This will definitely reduce the size of the fibroid.

Fibroid is not healthy as I have seen many women doomed as a result of not detecting the tumor on time. But you have timely information here that can greatly improve your chances of conception.
